Orect in Progressive & Multifocal Lens
One of 10 directions Orect could take — a possibility explored in full, not a commitment. The buyer picks one, picks several, or holds the whole menu as optionality.
Progressive lenses are, in clinical terms, the most demanding lens work the average optical practice does. The lens has a continuous gradient of corrective power from the distance-vision zone at the top to the reading-zone at the bottom, with an intermediate corridor between them sized to the patient's working habits. The fit depends on six measurements taken at the bench — pupillary distance, vertex distance, pantoscopic tilt, wrap angle, segment height, and reading-distance preference — and a seventh measurement, the working corridor width, that depends on the lens design selected. Most progressive lens work in the consumer eyewear category is delegated to a remote lab using a single default lens design. The patient receives the lens, the lens does not fit their working pattern, and the patient adapts to the lens by tilting their head into and out of the corridor for the next two or three years. The DTC category has, by and large, accepted this as the experience. Orect's progressive vertical is the part of the practice that does this work the way it was designed to be done. The bench-side measurement is taken by the optician, not estimated by software. The lens design is selected from a portfolio of named designs from the major lab partners — Zeiss, Hoya, Essilor, Rodenstock — based on the patient's specific working pattern, which the optician asks about across the bench. The lens is dispensed with a fitting check at one week; if the corridor is wrong, the lens is reground at the lab partner's cost. The target patient is the patient who has been issued an unsatisfactory progressive lens at least once and has begun to suspect the issue is the lens, not their adaptation. They are usually past forty-five and they have a working life — desktop, laptop, phone, occasional driving — that the default lens design does not handle well. Orect's value to this patient is the bench-side fit and the willingness to regrind if the corridor is wrong. The vertical is more clinical, by necessity, than the rest of the brand. The voice stays the same — measured, precise, willing to use the technical word — but the work behind it is closer to medical practice than to retail.

Radio Ad Script
Thirty seconds of Orect in this vertical. Visitors often play it twice — and every listen makes the brand a little more familiar in their head. That familiarity belongs to the owner.
“Old way: progressive lens issued, patient adapts by tilting their head for two years. New way: bench-side six-measurement fit, lens design selected, regrind if the corridor is wrong. Orect. The lens, made plain. orect.com.”
For the investor
Progressive & Multifocal Lens is one of 10 directions.
Orect ships with verb potential — 'Get an Orect exam' is the natural way patients refer to the brand at the practice level — and that verb crosses every vertical on this site. The clinical-eyewear asset class is one of the few consumer-and-healthcare lanes where reputation compounds across decades on patient referral. Whether you ship into this vertical first or hold and let the search behavior catch up, the brand keeps doing its work.
